Former LSU Outfielder Giovanni DiGiacomo Transfers to Duke

Former LSU fielder Giovanni DiGiacomo entered the transfer portal in June and has now announced his next destination: Duke University. DiGiacomo will be taking his talents to Durham, where he will complete his college eligibility. DiGiacomo announced his transfer to LSU on Twitter, saying that he was grateful for the many opportunities he had been offered by the coaching staff. I will cherish all the memories I have made as well as all the wonderful relationships I’ve been fortunate enough to have here at LSU.”

A product of Naples, Florida, DiGiacomo played four years for the Tigers appearing in 133 games and had a . 275 batting average in 342 plate appearances with 94 hits. He also added 12 doubles, three triples and six home runs while driving in 48 RBI and drew 37 walks with 18 stolen bases.

A 29th round draft choice of the Pittsburgh Pirates coming out of high school in 2018, DiGiacomo was a career . 275 hitter at LSU who finished with 12 career doubles, six home runs, 48 RBI and 68 runs over 133 games.

DiGiacomo was the first of Johnson’s Tigers to enter the portal following LSU’s 40-22 2022 season that ended in the Hattiesburg Regional championship-game loss to host Southern Miss.
Now, the former LSU outfielder is moving to a Duke program which is starting to establish itself as one of the most prominent ACC programs. It was all about the opportunity when DiGiacomo made his decision. The chance to make an impact and close out his career was crucial.
